Going Live on TikTok and Instagram Simultaneously: A Yolobox Ultra Tutorial

Today, I want to share my process for going live on both TikTok and Instagram at the same time. It's a way to reach a broader audience and maximize your engagement during live streams. The key tool that makes this possible is the Yolobox Ultra, a powerful live streaming device that simplifies multi-platform streaming. Let's dive in!

Setting Up the Yolobox Ultra

First things first, I power on the Yolobox Ultra by pressing the button located on the bottom right. Once it boots up, I select “vertical streaming” from the main menu. Since I want my stream to be in vertical format, I physically rotate the Yolobox Ultra to match. A stable internet connection is crucial for a smooth live stream, so I double-check that the ethernet cable is securely connected.

Next, I set up my video and audio sources. I've got a few different options available, but for this stream, I'll be using a mirrorless camera connected to HDMI input number one for my head shot, a webcam connected to USB input number one to capture an overhead view, and a wireless microphone connected to the mic input for clear audio. I then head into the audio panel to ensure the mic is selected as the audio source.

Choosing the Platforms

The Yolobox Ultra's main panel lets me select the platforms I want to stream to. While I have several options, I'm limited to two simultaneous streams. Today, I'm going with TikTok and Instagram, using their official apps. I open TikTok first and navigate to the live stream mode. Then, I go to the "two-app streaming" panel on the Yolobox Ultra and tap on "open another app" to launch Instagram and enter its live streaming mode.

Customizing the Stream

Before going live, I always like to add a bit of personalization to my stream. I tap on "add video source" to select a multi-view layout – picture-in-picture is my go-to, as it allows me to show both my face and the overhead shot simultaneously. I adjust the size and position of the picture-in-picture window to my liking. Then, I go to the overlay panel and add a social overlay to display my social media handle, making it easy for viewers to find and follow me.

Going Live!

With everything set, I put on my trusty live streaming cap and hit "go live" on TikTok, followed by "go live" on Instagram. The Yolobox Ultra's interface allows me to monitor and interact with both audiences in real-time, all from a single screen. It takes the complexity out of multi-platform live streaming, allowing you to focus on your content and audience.

Wrapping Up

And there you have it! That's how I use the Yolobox Ultra to go live on TikTok and Instagram simultaneously. It's a powerful tool that streamlines the process and helps me connect with a wider audience.
