The whole VideoLane.com 100-page website has been reduced to one single page. This is a temporary measure as our site is being rebuilt on a new web host. YES! The website was hacked and all data is gone. I cannot rely on the web hosting company any more. This was about the fifth time being hacked though I have taken all security measures. What's worse was there were no server backups at all! So is business as usual? Positively speaking, NO. We are currently swamped with DVD DUPLICATION service jobs and backlogs of EVENT VIDEOS and MARKETING VIDEOS to edit. Any new in coming jobs will have to wait till next year! :) Every cloud has a silver lining. The hacker struck at a timely moment where we are about to introduce a new website revamp anyway. Watch this couple looking back at their lovely wedding day BUT regret not hiring a wedding videographer. Highlights of the wedding couple's interview: The best wedding ever, others pale in comparison. Pictures were great but there's nothing to relive the moment. Video footage from friends and relatives didn't help to relive the day. Thought that hiring just a good wedding photographer would be enough. Felt like missing the first dance more than anything else. Pictures didn't help. With pictures you go "oh ya", but with video you are seeing it happen. Pictures are nice but video is a completely different thing. The visuals and sounds capture the feelings and emotions. Advice to Grooms: Hire a Wedding Videographer, it will make your wife very happy. I have heard this said many times myself... and yet couples still splurge on wedding photography and scrimp on wedding videography. The World Cities Summit is a huge event here in Singapore. Shooting this event is not a straightforward task. Held at Suntec City Convention Centre , the summit consists of talks after talks, back to back. The real challenge for the videographer is to capture each talk in different locations. We have to deploy 4 video crew to cover the the event, hopping from room to room, ballroom to theater, 2nd floor to 6th floor and back to 2nd floor. It was quite a frenzy and there was no break at all for the working party. There is great satisfaction though, seeing a happy client get their DVD video at the end of the same day. Comedy, romance, mystery, a robot, a fish bone and a giant hot fireball. That was what made the outdoor performance last night so spectacular. Audience packed every available standing space. We, the video crew , were lucky to be given a spacious media box. 3 nights with 3 different guest-of-honors gracing the event. The Lunatics put up an entertaining stage-on-water act at the Bedok Reservoir for the Closing Ceremony of the Singapore Arts Festival 2008 . I was part of the paparazzi chasing after these three Tai Tais. They were not camera-shy at all, pulling in passers-by to strike a pose. The ladies could even strike a conversation with any stranger in the train. Ok, there were other strangers that tailed them too. Coming from three different fashion eras, the trio caught the curious eyes of the weekend crowd in the Singapore MRT (travelling along Dhoby Ghaut - Orchard - City Hall). A long wet night it was in Little India. My shoes were soaked to the toes. The audience turn out was great though. There were some empty spaces due to soggy mud. (Got to strategically position my video camcorder to make the audience seem like one whole). The show went on without another drop. Audience were cheery with the 2 MCs giving light-hearted moments to what seems like a muti-racial cultural dance show. Wayang Kulit in English! Very entertaining! This was my first experience.
