The World Cities Summit is a huge event here in Singapore. Shooting this event is not a straightforward task. Held at Suntec City Convention Centre , the summit consists of talks after talks, back to back. The real challenge for the videographer is to capture each talk in different locations. We have to deploy 4 video crew to cover the the event, hopping from room to room, ballroom to theater, 2nd floor to 6th floor and back to 2nd floor. It was quite a frenzy and there was no break at all for the working party. There is great satisfaction though, seeing a happy client get their DVD video at the end of the same day. Comedy, romance, mystery, a robot, a fish bone and a giant hot fireball. That was what made the outdoor performance last night so spectacular. Audience packed every available standing space. We, the video crew , were lucky to be given a spacious media box. 3 nights with 3 different guest-of-honors gracing the event. The Lunatics put up an entertaining stage-on-water act at the Bedok Reservoir for the Closing Ceremony of the Singapore Arts Festival 2008 . I was part of the paparazzi chasing after these three Tai Tais. They were not camera-shy at all, pulling in passers-by to strike a pose. The ladies could even strike a conversation with any stranger in the train. Ok, there were other strangers that tailed them too. Coming from three different fashion eras, the trio caught the curious eyes of the weekend crowd in the Singapore MRT (travelling along Dhoby Ghaut - Orchard - City Hall). All part of an interactive play in the Singapore Arts Festival 2008 . Go catch some events, you will enjoy the experience.
